Suzuki has finally revealed the prices of its new litre-class bike – the GSX-R1000. The GSX-R1000 gets a price tag of £13,249 (Rs 11.11 lakh) and the higher-spec GSX-R1000R is priced at £16,099 (Rs 13.51 lakh).
This makes the new GSX-R1000 way cheaper than the Honda Fireblade in the UK market. It is the same story with the higher-spec model. The GSX-R1000R is close to £3000 (Rs 2.51 lakh) cheaper than the Fireblade SP. There’s no difference in the power figures between the two Suzukis. The 1000cc inline-four motor produces 202bhp, both sports 10-level traction control system and ABS with rear wheel lift mitigation.
The reason why the GSX-R1000R demands more money because it is equipped with IMU (inertia measurement control unit) which controls cornering ABS. It also gets a launch control, bi-directional quick-shifter and auto-blipper.
We’re expecting Suzuki India will launch the GSX-R1000 in India this year but at a price tag that could empty the bank account. There is a high chance of the Japanese manufacturer launching the R version too because Yamaha and Kawasaki sell the YZF-R1M and the Ninja H2R respectively in India.
