The 2017 Suzuki GSX-R150 has been speculatively rendered based on recent spy shots taken in Indonesia.
Created by an Indonesian media house, the rendering hints that the GSX-R150 will derive a majority of its styling cues from the new GSX-R1000 superbike. The aerodynamic fairing and the angular headlamp give it a sporty look, while the rear set footpegs and low clip on handlebars give it an aggressive riding position. The suspension setup consists of conventional telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. It gets disc brakes for both wheels. The GSX-R150 is expected to be powered by a new liquid-cooled powerplant breathing out of a twin-outlet exhaust canister.
The Suzuki GSX-R150 will be unveiled either at the INTERMOT Show in October or the EICMA Show in November. While the Suzuki Gixxer got off to a flying start in the Indian market, the demand for the premium commuter has been declining over the past few months. In case the Suzuki GSX-R150 is introduced here, it will be positioned against the likes of Yamaha YZF-R15 and the KTM RC200, both of which have now established their roots in the Indian market. As such, it is quite unlikely that Suzuki will risk launching the GSX-R150 in India.
