Triumph is going to launch the new Tiger Explorer in India tomorrow. Featuring a mid-life refresh, the new Tiger Explorer is compliant with BS IV emission norms.
The Tiger Explorer is flagship model in Triumph’s range of adventure touring models. Visual changes to the new model include revised side panels and redesigned headlamps and fuel tank. It gets an electrically adjustable windscreen to improve touring comfort. The high-riding stance, spoke wheels, bash guard, upswept exhaust and minimalistic bodywork give it a rugged look.
The Tiger Explorer is built around a tubular steel trellis frame, with a 1215cc three-cylinder powertrain mated to the rear wheel through a final shaft drive. The engine delivers 137bhp and 123Nm of torque though a six-speed transmission. A larger catalytic converter ensures that it meets the BS IV emission norms. The Tiger Explorer rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel.
The 2017 Tiger Explorer will compete with other adventure touring bikes like the Ducati Multistrada Enduro, Aprilia Caponord 1200 Rally and the BMW R1200 GS. We expect it to be priced around Rs 19 lakh.
