The upcoming facelift of Triumph’s sports tourer, the Tiger Sport 1050, has been spotted undergoing trials in Europe. This facelift will benefit from a host of cosmetic and technological updates to bring it on par with its rivals.
Triumph had previously hinted that their updated line-up for 2016 will only include a few cosmetic tweaks, though the 2017 models are expected to get a few major revisions. This 2017 Tiger Sport 1050 will get a retuned engine to make it Euro 4 compliant. We can also expect it to be more efficient and quicker than the current engine, thanks to revised internals. ABS will be offered as a standard fitment, while the electronics package will include switchable riding modes and traction control. The new Tiger Sport 1050 will also get an electronic throttle. Cosmetically, the test mule was seen wearing a revised fairing, exhaust can and a bellypan.
The Tiger Sport 1050 rivals other sports tourers like the Yamaha FJ-09, KTM 1050 Adventure, Suzuki V-Strom and the Kawasaki Versys 1000. We can expect it to be launched in the second half of 2016.
