Amidst hopes of TVS launching a completely new Scooty, the Hosur-based manufacturer recently launched an updated Scooty Zest 110. This 2017 iteration benefits from new colours and features, while the company has also made it BSIV-compliant. But does it still have the charm of the older Scooty? You decide after checking out this comprehensive picture gallery explaining everything in detail.
The latest TVS Scooty Zest 110 gets four new colour options - matte blue, matte red, matte yellow and matte black. The other colour options continue on the standard model.
As a part of the update to meet BS-IV emission norms, the Scooty Zest gets daytime running pilot lamps. These are unlike the TVS Jupiter which gets AHO.
The scooter also gets a new 3D logo and a BS-IV sticker on the front apron to differentiate it from the standard model.
Another update comes in the form of dual tone seat colours with contrast stitching. This is different from the black seat on the regular Scooty. The new one looks more premium.
In addition, this variant also gets silver oak interior panels like what we had seen earlier on the special edition of the TVS Jupiter. It complements the brown tan coloured seats.
Other features include a backlit speedometer, LED tail lamp, textured floorboard, stainless steel muffler guard, centre stand, kick-start etc.
The highlight continues to be the 19-litre under seat storage, which gets an LED light and a provision for USB charging in the form of a single port.
Since the new Scooty Zest 110 is based on the standard version, it continues to get a front glove compartment and two highly accessible hooks too.
The TVS Scooty Zest 110 has a seat height of 760mm with 10-inch tubeless tyres at both ends. It tips the scale at 98.5kg.
There are no other mechanical changes. Braking duties are still done by a 110mm drum unit in the front and a 130mm unit at the rear.
The scooter is suspended over telescopic forks at the front and a double-rated hydraulic mono-shock in the rear.
The two-wheeler continues to get a 5-litre fuel tank, while the company claims a fuel efficiency of 62kmpl even on the updated TVS Scooty Zest 110.
Powering the TVS Scooty Zest 110 is an updated 109.7cc four-stroke engine mated to a CVT gearbox. This mill churns out 8bhp of maximum power at 7,500rpm and 8.7Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm.
The 2017 TVS Scooty Zest 110 has been priced at ₹ 46,538 for the standard version, while the trim with new matte colours costs ₹ 48,038 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
