Bajaj yesterday unveiled the new Cruise 220 and the Street 220. While there aren’t any mechanical changes, the 2018 models do get a slew of visual updates. Here is a detailed photo gallery of the 2018 Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 and Street 220 –
The Avenger Cruise 220 has been styled like a traditional American cruiser with flashy paint schemes, chrome-embellished components and pullback handlebars.
The Avenger Cruise 220 gets a new inverted triangular design for the headlamp with LED units and a taller windshield.
The Avenger Street 220 on the other hand, maintains the sporty look of an urban cruiser with blacked out components and matte paint schemes.
The oblong headlamp with LED units, a short and dark flyscreen, rubber bellows on the forks and flatter handlebar complement its sporty character.
The round instrument console now gets a fancy digital display. A secondary display on the fuel tank integrates tell-tale lights.
Both the bikes continue with a 220cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine, delivering 19bhp and 17.5Nm of torque through a five-speed gearbox.
They ride on 17-inch front and 15-inch rear wheels. The Cruise 220 gets chromed spoke wheels, while the Street 220 gets alloy wheels.
The Avenger Cruise 220 and Street 220 both get a 260mm disc brake at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear.
Although the hardware is the same, Bajaj claims that the suspension travel at the rear has been increased to offer a more comfortable ride.
