Bajaj unveiled the 2018 Avenger Street and Avenger Cruise along with the rest of its updated line-up recently. Both the bikes are priced at Rs 92,442 (ex-showroom, Mumbai) and are now available at dealerships across the country.
The bikes have a similar cruiser design language and feature new paint schemes and cosmetic changes for 2018. The Avenger Cruise continues to be chrome-laden and gets an inverted triangle headlamp unit flanked by LED DRLs on each side. It also gets a revised windshield and a pulled back handlebar to boost its laid-back cruiser characteristics. The Avenger Street on the other hand sports a short handlebar, a flyscreen and a round headlamp with an LED DRL at the bottom of the unit. The bike sports all-black components that give it an urban-cruiser appeal.
Both bikes are equipped with two fully digital instrument clusters; one above the handlebar and one on the fuel tank. While the Street rides on 17-inch front and 15-inch rear alloy wheels, the Cruise gets spoke wheels of the same size.
Under the skin, the bikes are the same as the previous models. Powering the bikes is a 220cc single-cylinder engine that produces 19bhp and 17.5Nm of torque via a five-speed gearbox. Stopping power for both bikes comes from a 260mm disc and a 130mm disc for the front and rear respectively.
The Avenger Street and Avenger Cruise compete against the Suzuki Intruder which is powered by a smaller 150cc engine. The bike gets ABS as standard and is priced higher at Rs 99,995 (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
