Earlier this week, Bajaj made a comeback in the 110cc commuter bike segment with the new Discover 110. The last time the company sold a Discover 110 was in 2009, a model which was phased out due to lack of demand. Now however, the company has reintroduced the bike taking into account the size of the market space. Here is a photo gallery of the new Bajaj Discover 110 –
Bajaj has stuck to a conservative design language with the new Discover 110 in an attempt to appeal to the masses.
While the headlamp gets a familiar design, it is flanked by LED DRLs on both sides, which is a first-in-class feature.
The fuel tank also sports a familiar shape, although the decals add a fresh appeal. The fuel tank can accommodate 8 litres of fuel.
The instrument console consists of an analogue tachometer and a digital display which displays, speed, odometer, trip meter and fuel level.
Considering the target audience, the large single-piece seat and the cushy suspension have been designed to make the ride comfortable.
At the heart of the Discover 110 is a new 115cc single-cylinder DTS-i engine, delivering 8.5bhp and 9.8Nm of torque.
The engine boasts of a long-stroke architecture and the highest torque output in the segment. It is mated to a four-speed gearbox.
The Discover 110 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, with a 130mm drum brake at the front and a 110mm drum brake at the rear.
