BMW Motorrad might give their litre-class superbike, the S1000RR, just a cosmetic update for the 2018 model. According to the documents with the California Air Resources Board (CARB), no changes have been done to this German motorcycle.
This makes us believe that the new S1000RR which was snapped a few weeks ago, might not be revealed either at the 2017 Intermot or the 2017 EICMA shows. This new S1000RR gets new bodywork and some changes to the chassis along with a new electronics package. The instrument cluster is all new too. So the updated S1000RR might continue to get some business for the company till the new S1000R makes its way to the global markets.
The current S1000RR is an eight-year old bike which was refreshed in 2015. BMW needs to up its game so that it could catch up with its rivals who have introduced new products to the market. Expect the updated S1000RR to come to India later this year at a hefty price tag.
