Angata Racing's Aaron Mare won the 2018 Desert Storm in the Moto category with an overall time of 8 hours 1 minute and 20 seconds. Meanwhile, TVS Racing's Santolino Lorenzo set the fastest time of 00:14:56, placing second with an overall time of 08:06:39 in the event. Sanjay Kumar from Angata racing finished third with a time of 08:39:09.
The final leg of the event saw competitors covering 105kms from Kuchri to the Sam Desert. The last 24 kms of the stage was a fast stretch with the riders pushing their limits in terms of speed.
The 2018 Desert Storm proved to be a learning experience for the riders along with being a base for the upcoming India Baja that is scheduled in August. The Baja that will also be held in Jaisalmer is a wild card entry to the Dakar Rally.
