- Gets bigger engine and other minor upgrades.
The 2018 Ducati Multistrada 1260 is scheduled to arrive in the country tomorrow, 19 June.
The adventure-touring bike is likely to be launched in two variants initially; the standard and S. While the standard variant is expected to be priced around Rs 15 lakhs to Rs 16 lakhs, the Multistrada 1260 S may carry a price tag between Rs 17 lakhs to Rs 18 lakhs. On the other hand, the Pikes Peak version is likely to arrive sometime later this year.
The new Multistrada 1260 uses a 1262cc, L-Twin Testastretta engine borrowed from its power cruiser sibling, the XDiavel. This motor produces 156bhp and 96Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox and two-way quickshifter. The bike also gets slight revisions to its trellis frame along with a 48mm longer swingarm for added stability. Meanwhile, Ducati has retained the recognisable design of the previous model although with minor changes to make it more aerodynamic. It also gets a new full-LED headlamp setup and a full-colour TFT screen.
Once launched, the Multistrada 1260 will directly compete against the BMW R1200 GS in India.
