Hero Motocorp has launched the 2018 version of the Super Splendor in India at Rs 57,190 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The bike gets a slightly revised bodywork, although retaining the conservative design language of the previous model. It also gets new graphics, a wider, more upswept seat and an LED tail lamp. The 2018 Super Splendor is equipped with the All Time Headlamp On (AHO) feature along with a side-stand indicator that reflects on the three-pod analogue instrument console.
Powering the bike is a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 11bhp and 11Nm of torque via a four-speed transmission. It rides on conventional telescopic forks upfront and a twin-shock setup at the rear. Braking duties are done by 130mm drum brakes on both ends. Hero does not offer a disc brake, even as option. The bike weighs 3kgs heavier than the outgoing model at 125kgs and gets a 13-litre fuel tank.
The new Super Splendor is available in five colour schemes– Black with purple, black with red, black with silver and red with grey. Hero is looking to hold a firm ground in the 125cc commuter motorcycle segment with the introduction of the updated Super Splendor. The Hero Glamour is one of the highest selling 125cc motorcycle in India, and the Super Splendor is targeted at someone looking for a conservative bike on a lower budget. The bike will compete against the Bajaj Discover 125 and the Honda CB Shine.
