- Features cosmetic upgrades
- New LED headlamp and digital instrument console
- Pricier than standard variant by Rs 3,000
Honda has launched a new variant of the Dio, called the Dio Deluxe. Priced at Rs 53,292 (ex-showroom), this top-of-the-line variant features LED headlamp, digital console and a slew of cosmetic upgrades.
The Dio Deluxe variant sports the same bodywork as the standard model, although it gets racy decals and gold-coloured wheels to set it apart. While the standard variant has to make do with an LED strip on the handlebar, the Deluxe variant benefits from a LED headlamp. It also gets two matte and two glossy paint schemes. The instrument console is a fully-digital unit, and integrates a service-reminder. The exhaust now gets a metal shield, while the bay in front gets two storage hooks to improve the scooter’s practicality. It even gets the new four-in-one ignition key assembly from the Grazia with a seat-release button.
At the heart of the Dio Deluxe is the same tried-and-tested 109cc single-cylinder engine, delivering 8bhp and 8.9Nm of torque. It is mated to a CVT transmission. The new Dio Deluxe is yet to reach showrooms, although dealers are expecting deliveries to by the end of this month. The Dio competes against the Yamaha Ray-Z, TVS Wego and the Suzuki Let’s.
