Honda has launched the 2019 PCX150 in Malaysia at RM 10,999 (Rs 1.85lakh).
The PCX150 sports a sleek maxi-scooter like styling. The scooters wide front end houses a uniquely-designed full-LED headlamp with vertical LED turn signals. It also offers an LCD instrument cluster a small storage compartment in the front apron and 28-litres of underseat storage.
Powering the scooter is a 149cc, liquid-cooled, engine that puts out 13.3bhp and 14Nm of torque. This unit is mated to a CVT gearbox and final belt drive. The PCX150 rides on 14-inch, 8-spoke wheels on both ends shod with 100/80 section front and 120/70 section rear tyres. Suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic front forks and a dual-shock setup at the rear. Braking power comes from a 220mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum along with a single-channel ABS as optional.
While the PCX150 is among Honda's best-selling scooters in international markets, it is unlikely to arrive in India anytime soon. However, with TVS's 150cc scooter in the works, the Honda PCX150 would be an interesting proposition if priced competitively. Currently, there is the Aprilia SR150, Vespa VXL 150 and SXL 150 on offer in the 150cc scooter segment.
