Polaris will launch the 2018 Roadmaster Elite in India on 2nd May. To be available in very limited numbers, this premium touring motorcycle is expected to command a price tag of around Rs 60 lakhs.
The Roadmaster Elite will the most premium offering in Indian’s line-up of 12 motorcycles. While it is based on the Roadmaster, the special edition bike gets a hand-painted cobalt blue and black paint scheme along with a 23K gold leaf badge on the fuel tank. Indian claims that it takes 30 hours to hand paint the Roadmaster Elite. It features the best of the features that Indian has to offer. The seven-inch touchscreen system is paired with Ride Command infotainment system, and integrates a navigation system, 300-watt audio system as well as displays ride data.
At the heart of the Roadmaster Elite is an 1811cc ‘Thunder Stroke 111’ V-twin engine developing 150Nm of torque and mated to a six-speed gearbox. It will be imported from the US as a completely built unit (CBU). Bookings for the motorcycle have been open for quite some time now. Considering the astronomical price tag and the limited numbers on a global scale, exclusivity is guaranteed.
