Polaris recently unveiled the new 2018 Indian Scout Bobber in the US. A rival to Harley-Davidson’s Sportster range, the Scout Bobber gets visual cues inspired by the original bobber motorcycles from the 1940s. Here is a photo gallery of the new Indian Scout Bobber -
While the Scout is more of a retro cruiser, the Scout Bobber is a minimalistic, low-slung, blacked-out version of its host, with the air of a custom motorcycle.
The fuel tank features a new Indian logo. The riding position has changed thanks to the revised handlebar and foot pegs.
The wheels, frame, exhaust and the engine have been given a matte black treatment. The chrome outline of the engine contrasts beautifully with the bodywork.
The tail section features a chopped fender. The centre brake light has been ditched, while the pillion seat is now an optional extra.
At the heart of the Scout Bobber is a 1133cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine, delivering 100bhp and 97Nm of torque through a six-speed transmission.
The ground clearance has been dropped by an inch, thanks to the lowered rear suspension. Up front, it gets new cartridge-type telescopic forks.
The list of optional extras includes pillion back rest, slip-on exhaust, saddlebags, spoke wheels, engine guards, bar-end mirrors and ape-style handlebars among others.
Apart from the black solid paint scheme, the Indian Scout Bobber is available in three dual tone paint schemes – red-black, silver-black and bronze-black.
