- 2018 Star City Plus launched at Rs 52,907
- Gets new paint schemes, combi-braking system, dual-tone mirrors
TVS has launched the 2018 version of the Star City Plus. This motorcycle now gets revised paint schemes and graphics, along with a better braking system and new pricing.
The Hosur-based manufacturer has now equipped the bike with combi-braking system. TVS likes to call this system Synchronised Braking Technology (SBT). The system applies both the front and rear brakes when the rider engages the rear brake. This helps in minimising braking distance in a safe manner. It also reduces the chances of the rear wheel locking up and losing traction. Along with these mechanical upgrades, the company has introduced a new grey and black dual-tone paint scheme. To enhance the overall appeal of the bike, the 2018 model gets dual-tone mirrors.
In terms of engine, there are no changes. The Star City Plus continues to produce 8.4bhp at 7000rpm and peak torque of 8.7Nm at 5000rpm. This motor is mated to a four-speed gearbox.
The Star City Plus competes with the Bajaj Platina, Hero HF Deluxe and Honda CD 110 Dream.
