The new Yamaha Fascino, which was unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo, will be launched in India in March. The scooter features a slew of cosmetic updates to give it a fresh look.
Apart from the usual set of new paint schemes and decals, the new Fascino also gets an updated front fascia. The apron has been redesigned with a new black panel, vents and a new insignia. The tail section gets a larger grab rail, while the seat features a dual-tone cover. Chrome bits on the side give the Fascino a premium appeal.
There are no changes under the skin. The Fascino continues to be powered by a 113cc single-cylinder engine delivering 7bhp and 8.1Nm of torque. The engine incorporates BlueCore technology, which is aimed at improving the efficiency of the scooter without compromising the performance.
The Yamaha Fascino is the highest selling scooter in the company’s line-up. While there were times when the company sold more than 20,000 units of the scooter every month, the number has now settled down at around 13,000 units. With this new update however, we can expect the demand to jump by a significant margin. As for the price, we can expect it to be marginally more expensive than the outgoing model. The Fascino competes against the Honda Activa 5G, Hero Maestro Edge and the TVS Jupiter.
