Yamaha has finally launched a mechanical update on its famous FZ-S Fi. The Japanese maker has equipped the bike with a rear disc brake, making it directly take on the bikes like the Honda CB Hornet 160R and the TVS Apache RTR 160.
Design
The 2018 FZ-S Fi looks identical to the previous variant. But it gets two new paint schemes, grey and matte green. The bold design, bulgy fuel tank and the aggressive front makes the FZ-S a good bike to look at. The CB Hornet 160R with its sharp styling makes it quite an enticing motorcycle. The bright decals on this Honda increases the overall appeal of the bike. Lastly, the Apache RTR 160’s design isn’t a new one. It first debuted on the Apache 200 and the same was carried forward to the 160cc model.
Engine
The Yamaha FZ-S Fi has the least performance figure. Its 149cc single-cylinder engine produces 13bhp and 12.8Nm of peak torque. The Honda CB Hornet 160R’s 163cc single-cylinder engine produces 14.9bhp and peak torque of 14.5Nm. The TVS Apache RTR 160 produces the most power at 16.4 bhp and 14.8Nm. All three bikes gets five-speed gearbox.
Cycle Parts
All three bikes ride on 17-inch wheels, along with telescopic forks at the front and monoshock at the rear. When it comes to braking, the FZ-S, CB Hornet 160R and the Apache RTR 160 gets disc brakes at both the side for better braking performance.
Pricing
The FZ-S Fi is priced at Rs 87,042 whereas the CB Hornet 160R retails at Rs 91,143. The Apache RTR 160 will set you back by 85,535. All are ex-showroom Delhi.
