Yamaha has pulled the wraps off its updated scooter, the 2018 X-Max 125. This maxi scooter gets cosmetic and mechanical updates along with new technologies.
The 2018 version now boasts new dual LED headlights and tail lights, which have been borrowed from the Max scooter family. The scooter is loaded with other practical bits like an adjustable screen and hanedlbar, a 12V power outlet and a ‘smart key‘ keyless ignition system. The instrumentation has been revised and now gets dual digital clocks with a central LCD display. The Japanese manufacturer has equipped with X-Max with a traction control system (TCS) which is usually seen in larger X-Max models. ABS is standard.
The 125cc fuel-injected single cylinder engine is now Euro 4 compliant. It has been re-tuned to offer better fuel efficiency along with seamless acceleration.
This Yamaha will go on sale in Europe in the next few months. Unfortunately, its Indian arm won’t get this product to India anytime soon. But the company should definitely keep the 2018 X-Max 125 on display in its exclusive boutique store in Chennai which was inaugurated a few months ago. While this will see an increase in walk in numbers, Yamaha will also gauge the customer reactions to this maxi scoot.
