Yamaha has revealed the 2018 YZF-R3. The bike only gets a new ‘Yamaha Blue’ paint scheme; unfortunately, everything on the bike remains the same, killing all rumours of an updated R3 for 2018.
The bike continues to use a 321cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces 42bhp at 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm. It also uses the 41mm conventional front forks like the previous model. The international model gets ABS as an option.
The Yamaha R3 was discontinued in India when the industry moved to BS4 emission norms. Yamaha has always maintained that the motorcycle will be reintroduced soon, it hasn’t given a timeline for the same. We can expect this new paint scheme to make it to our shore, whenever the bike is reintroduced here.
