Kawasaki has revealed the 2018 ZX-10RR and the updates are limited to two new colours for a few components.
The colour changes are made to the reservoir canisters behind the front forks, which are now silver instead of red. Also, the fork top cap is now green as compared to the earlier red. Talk about being subtle with changes.
The ZX-10RR is Team Green’s champion WSBK bike. It uses a 998cc in-line four cylinder engine that produces 197bhp and 113.50Nm of torque.
The bike sports a high-lift camshaft, DLC-coated tappets to reduce friction, and stiffer valve springs. The wheels are lightweight Marchesini units and are wrapped in Pirelli Supercorsa SP tyres. The suspension is tweaked to make it quicker around a racetrack. The bike also gets an Akrapovic exhaust unit.
Although the downside is that many of these modifications, like the Akrapovic exhaust, are not available on the India-spec bike as it would no longer be road-legal. The ZX-10RR competes against the Yamaha YZF-R1M and Aprilia RSV4 RF and is priced at Rs 22.12 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
