- It can be booked for Rs 1000, which is refundable
- The new model will get aesthetic and mechanical updates
- It will see a hike of around Rs 8,000-10,000
Bajaj is about to launch the updated model of its power cruiser, the 2019 Dominar 400. Before its official launch, select dealers have started accepting bookings for the motorcycle at a token amount of Rs 1000, which is refundable. While the ongoing model retails at Rs 1.63 lakhs (ex-showroom), expect the 2019 version to get dearer by around Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000.
The new model has been spied several times before suggesting that it has received cosmetic as well as mechanical changes. Apart from the main digital instrument cluster, it also incorporates an auxiliary display on the tank. The former consists of speedometer, tachometer and fuel meter while the latter indicates side stand, service reminder and engine kill switch on. Moreover, it might also get refreshed decals.
The Dominar 400 is powered by a 373cc, single-cylinder engine which will perhaps be updated to comply with the upcoming BS VI emission norms. The stubby single-unit exhaust has made way for a dual-exhaust and, as the leaked video suggests, it emanates a throatier sound. The telescopic front forks have been replaced by USD (upside down) units while the ABS braking setup is also likely to be improved.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 competes against the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X, Mahindra Mojo UT300, Jawa Forty Two and UM Renegade Sports S.
