2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 details leaked- What’s new

The 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 is expected to be launched in India next month and now the brochure of the motorcycle has been leaked, revealing full technical details. Since this was the last piece of the puzzle, we tell you what the 2019 Dominar 400 is highly likely to offer. 

More power 

One of the biggest mysteries around the upcoming Dominar 400 was whether it gets a revised engine. Well, it does! The 373cc, single-cylinder motor derived from the KTM 390 Duke has been retuned to pump out 39.3bhp; an additional 4.8bhp over the previous-gen. It continues to come mated to a six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.

Upgraded suspension and brakes

For 2019, the Dominar 400 lets go of its telescopic front forks for upside down units. This may add slight weight but also add to the comfort and handling of the bike. At the rear, the bike continues with a gas-charged monoshock. The bike will use a 320mm disc at front, although with a Monobloc caliper and a 230mm disc at the rear. A dual-channel ABS unit will be offered as standard. 

New skin and electronic updates

To give it a fresher appeal, Bajaj has tweaked the bodywork of the Dominar 400. It gets slightly different graphics on the full-LED headlamp, black and chrome finished wheels and new paint options. However, the most noticeable change is the stubby double-barrel exhaust that is said to have a bass-y tune. Bajaj has also reconfigured the auxiliary console on the tank to display the time, gear position, trip and odometer.

These updates have also added slightly to the weight of the motorcycle which now tips the scales at 184.5kg, an increase of 2.5kg over the outgoing model. We can also expect the manufacturer to increase the price of the Dominar 400 by Rs 10,000-Rs 12,000 owing to these changes.
