- The video commercial was shown at a Bajaj’s press conference
- This was the bike’s first official appearance
- Although it is yet to be launched, bookings have already begun
Bajaj has officially revealed the 2019 Dominar 400 in a new video commercial shown at a company’s press conference. It has been spied several times before but this is the first official appearance of the motorcycle. While it is yet to be launched, bookings for the bike have already begun at select dealerships.
The video clearly reveals the major changes on the bike which are the inclusion of USD (upside down) forks on the front and dual exhaust setup. As revealed in a recent video, the motorcycle will get a throatie exhaust note. Another update is on the instrument cluster. The auxiliary display on the tank, which consists of only the tell-tale lights on the current bike, displays more information on the new model such as the odometer, trip meter and gear position indicator. The 2019 Dominar 400, however, gets no major cosmetic changes.
The Dominar 400 is powered by a 373.3cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is mated to a six-speed gearbox. It churns out 34.5bhp and 35Nm of torque. This engine is expected to be upgraded for better performance and will be compliant with the upcoming BS VI emission norms. Braking on the Dominar 400 is handled by disc brakes on both the ends while dual-channel ABS comes as standard.
The 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 is expected to get around Rs 8,000-10,000 expensive than the ongoing bike which retails at Rs 1.63 lakhs (ex-showroom).
