The 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 has finally been launched in India and is priced at Rs 1, 73,870 (ex-showroom, India).
The motorcycle costs a premium of Rs 10,795 over the previous Dominar 400. Bajaj has given the 2019 Dominar 400 cosmetic as well as mechanical upgrades. On the visual front, the Dominar 400’s fuel tank and headlamp unit now gets a decal that gives it a muscular and aggressive appeal. It also sports a redesigned dual-barrel exhaust with a deep note.
Bajaj has also added minor details like the ‘D’ logo on the pillion seat and cast aluminium stalks for the rear-view mirrors that lend a premium feel. The Dominar 400 also offers loops for bungee cords under the pillion seat that complete its touring character. The manufacturer has also tweaked the instrument cluster of the Dominar 400 which now shows a distance to service indicator, current fuel economy and average fuel consumption. The secondary tank-mounted instrument cluster displays time, trip and gear position indicator.
In terms of mechanicals, the 2019 Dominar 400 benefits from inverted forks upfront. At the rear, it continues to use a monoshock. Bajaj has also updated the Dominar 400’s 373cc, single-cylinder engine. The motor gets a DOHC (Dual-Overhead Cam) which has resulted in a 4.8bhp increase as compared to the older version. The engine now produces 39.4bhp at 8650rpm and 35Nm of torque at 7000rpm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
The bike will be offered in two colours- green and black. Bookings for the 2019 Dominar 400 had already commenced in January and deliveries for the motorcycle are expected to begin by mid-April.
