- 2019 Dominar 400 spotted in matte red colour
- Is available in Aurora Green and Vine Red colours in India
- Red paint scheme will be launched in India when the demand rises
Bajaj had officially launched the 2019 Dominar 400 in India in April this year. While the motorcycle was updated comprehensively in terms of mechanicals, the bikemaker introduced it in only two colour options including Aurora Green and Vine Black. However, as we had reported in March, the Chakan-based bikemaker has the red colour variant ready and will first launch it in the international markets. To support claims, the 2019 Dominar 400 was recently spotted in red paint scheme at a dealership in Mexico.
The black colour variant was available in the previous model as well. However, the green shade is all-new for the 2019 version which looks bold and gives the motorcycle a fresh appeal. As for the red paint scheme, Bajaj will launch this shade in India as and when there is a high demand from the buyers. However, as opposed to the matte-finished red colour spotted in Mexico, we expect the bikemaker to launch the glossy red variant in India.
The new model of the Dominar 400 has received subtle cosmetic tweaks and new features. However, the major update comes in the form of a reworked engine. The 373.3cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor now gets DOHC configuration which churns out 39.4bhp of power and 35Nm of torque. Suspension duties are handled by upside-down forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking setup comprises of a 320mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear assisted by a dual-channel ABS which comes as standard.
Bajaj has priced the 2019 Dominar 400 at Rs 1.74 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) in India. Considering its pricing, the touring motorcycle locks horns with the Royal Enfield Himayalan, KTM 250 Duke, Honda CBR250R and the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250.
