- Bajaj sold 2,044 units of 2019 Dominar 400 in June
- Sales are on a consistent rise since the first month of its launch
- More colour options to be introduced during the festive season
The 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 has witnessed a good initial response in India. This is evident from the sales figure of the motorcycle in June which saw a hike of 60 per cent, as compared to the corresponding month last year. The Chakan based bikemaker had sold 1,277 units of its flagship offering in June 2018 which shot up to 2,044 units this year.
Bajaj launched the 2019 edition of the Dominar 400 in the first week of April 2019. With the new model, the brand promised to have fixed most of the chinks in the bike’s armour while making it further exciting with better cycle parts and a slightly more powerful engine. The whole recipe is apparently working in the brand’s favour as the sales of the new Dominar 400 have consistently been on the rise since the first month of launch. While the numbers for April stood at 1,346 units, it incremented to 1,888 units in the following month.
Powering the motorcycle is the same 373.3cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor. However, now the engine features DOHC configuration which has hiked the power output by 4.9bhp to 39.4bhp at 8650rpm. While the torque output remains the same at 35Nm, it comes in 500rpm earlier at 7500rpm. Coming to the cycle parts, the touring motorcycle now comes equipped with upside down forks up front, as opposed to the telescopic units on its predecessor, while the rear monoshock remains unchanged. Braking power comes from a 320mm disc with radially-mounted dual-piston caliper at the front and a 230mm disc with a single-pot caliper at the rear, assisted by dual-channel ABS.
Bajaj currently offers the 2019 Dominar 400 in two colour options including Aurora Green and Vine Black. With the aim to keep the product fresh and fetch more customers, the bikemaker will be introducing two new colour options during the upcoming festive season. As for competition, the touring motorcycle locks horns with the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250.
