- It gets single-channel ABS
- Price of the bike will be slightly hiked
- It will also get updated decals
After being enlightened with a slew of spy images of the 2019 Bajaj Pulsar 220F ABS, the motorcycle has finally been spotted at a dealership. It will officially be launched early next month and will get a minimal hike in its price. Currently, it retails at Rs 97,670 (ex-showroom). Accompanying the Pulsar 220F will be the ABS-equipped Pulsar 180 and the Avenger 220, which was also sighted at a dealership recently.
Apart from the inclusion of single-channel ABS, the Pulsar 220F will receive slight changes in its decals on the fuel tank and side panels. All the other elements will remain the same. Powering the bike is a 220cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, carburetor motor that churns out 21bhp of power and 19Nm of torque. It comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle rides on 17-inch front and rear wheel and is based on a double cradle chassis. It is suspended on telescopic forks on the front and gas-charged dual shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a 260mm disc on the front and a 230mm disc at the rear. It weighs 150kg (kerb) and incorporates a 15 litres fuel tank.
The Bajaj Pulsar 220F competes against the Hero Karizma ZMR and the Yamaha Fazer Fi V2.0. Bajaj will soon update the whole Avenger and Pulsar range with ABS as the government mandates all 125cc and above two-wheelers to have ABS from 1 April 2019.
