Bajaj has launched the 2019 version of its 150cc commuter motorcycle, the V15. Although there’s no official confirmation, the motorcycle has started arriving at dealerships. The bike will now be called as the V15 Power Up owing to the slight bump in its power figure while other changes include new graphics and tweaked gear shift pattern. The pricing of the motorcycle remains unchanged at Rs 67,187 (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
Powering the 2019 V15 Power Up is the same 149.5cc, air-cooled, carburetor motor but now, it has been tuned to generate 12.8bhp at 7,500rpm which is up from the previous 11.8bhp. The torque output is the same at 13Nm at 5,500rpm. While the engine is still mated to a five-speed gearbox, the shift pattern is now universal one-down-four-up instead of the all-down pattern. On the cosmetic front, the bike remains unchanged apart from the bolder decals on the tank and side panels.
The Bajaj V15 is a commuter bike with cruiser-like styling and a classic appeal. It gets a 13 litre fuel tank and the kerb weight stands at 135kg. For instrumentation, it incorporates an analogue cluster comprising of speedometer, odometer and fuel guage along with a few tell-tale lights. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and twin hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. A 240mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum handle the braking. Bajaj hasn’t equipped the V15 with ABS yet but, as per the dealers, it might come soon.
The 2019 Bajaj V15 Power Up goes up against the Hero Achiever 150, Honda Unicorn 150 and the Yamaha SZ-RR version 2.0.
