- Expected to be unveiled at 2018 EICMA
- Gets panniers, auxiliary lights and added crash protection
- Will use same 853cc engine as the standard F850.
BMW displayed the F850 GS at the 2017 EICMA. It was also launched in India shortly after at Rs 13.70 lakhs. Now, US Environmetal Protection Agency filings reveal that a F850 GS Adeventure is on the way for 2019.
According to the leaked details, the F850 GS Adventure will sport a design language similar to the standard bike. However, it gets a larger fuel tank, longer 'beak' and sharper side panels. To further boost its off-roading capabilities the bike will come equipped with aluminium panniers, extra auxiliary lights and crash protection and longer travel suspension.
The F850 GS Adventure will be powered by the same 853cc parallel-twin engine. This engine produces 93bhp and 92Nm of torque via six-speed gearbox and final chain drive. Given its additional equipment, the kerb weight has increased from 229kg for the standard bike to 244kg for the Adventure version. Height has also risen to 1450mm as compared to 1356mm of the F850 GS.
BMW is expected to unveil the F850 GS Adventure at the 2018 EICMA along with the new C400 scooter and updated S1000RR. While the C400 is unlikely to arrive in India, we can expect the F850 Adventure and S1000RR in the country sometime next year.
