- All 5 models get new paint schemes
- Dynamic brake light now offered as standard
- Prices unchanged
BMW Motorrad has unveiled MY2019 updates for the R nineT family. The five motorcycles in the range now get new paint schemes and dynamic brake light.
The standard R nineT gets two new paint schemes - metallic red/blue and red/aluminium. The Blue/aluminium is no longer available. The R nineT Pure is available in two metallic colours - black/white and black/gold. The R nineT Scrambler gets a new stereo metallic matte, metallic blue/ white and metallic black/gold. The grey paint is no longer available. The R nineT Racer is now available in metallic black/gold with a ‘Racer’ decal on the side. The R nineT Scrambler and the Urban GS now get the option of cross-spoke wheels.
BMW Motorrad started introducing dynamic brake lights in 2015. This system flashes the brake light at a high frequency under emergency braking. In the second stage, the hazard warning flashers are also turned on as the motorcycle approaches standstill. These remain turned on until the motorcycle starts accelerating again.
The upgrades have been introduced globally. As the R nineT range sold in India is imported as completely built units, we can expect the new paint schemes to be available here too. We do not expect to see any hike in the prices.
