After a much-needed break subsequent to the completion of five stages, Stage 6 of the rally was held between Arequipa to San Juan de Marcona. The stage had a total distance of 502 km to be covered, of which 336km were timed sections. Here’s the photo gallery of Stage 6 of the 2019 Dakar Rally.
Luciano Benavides representing KTM Factory Racing Team managed to secure ninth position in Stage 6, thus securing 11th overall.
Stage 6 of the rally wasn’t very fruitful for Xavier de Soultrait, Yamalube Yamaha Official Rally Team, as he completed the stage in 11th position although he continues to hold the ninth position overall.

Sporting black and yellow livery is Stefan Svitko from Slovnaft Team who completed Stage 6 in the seventh position with an overall eighth ranking in the rally.
Jose Julian, Merino Racing, lost balance on his Yamaha during Stage 6 of the rally from Arequipa to San Juan de Marcona.
Astride on the red and white motorcycle, Cesar Pardo from KTM Peru Rally Team is seen in action as he makes a pass at a fellow rider.
Andrew Short, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing, hailing from the USA, completed Stage 6 of the rally in ninth position and overall tenth. It was a difficult stage for him as the desert was very challenging during this stage.
Spanish rider Lorenzo Santolino representing TVS Sherco Racing Team suffered a nasty crash after riding for 33km in the special section of Stage 6. Santolino was airlifted to Lima for a comprehensive check-up. Thankfully, no major injury has been reported.
