- Spotted without camouflage.
- Gets minor cosmetic and mechanical changes.
- Likely to be unveiled at the 2018 EICMA.
The 2019 Ducati Multistrada 950 has been spotted on test. The bike was spotted without camouflage revealing details about the to-be-launched motorcycle.
The most noticeable change is the design of the tank and side fairings which have been tweaked to look like its big sibling, the Multistrada 1260. It also gets a silver finished swingarm and knuckle guards in place of the black units on the current model.
Apart from these cosmetic changes, the 2019 Multistrada 950 appears to get a hydraulic clutch which recently debuted on the new Scramblers. It is also likely to get a bump in power with a retuned version of the 937cc L-twin motor. This engine might also be Euro 5 compliant and come mated to a bi-directional quick shifter. The remote preload adjuster on the test mule is also located differently, suggesting a possible change to the suspension as well.
Furthermore, the current model gets four ride modes, eight-level traction control and ABS as standard. However, Ducati is likely to update the bike’s electronics package with cornering ABS and lean sensitive traction control.
The Italian manufacturer is expected to unveil the bike at the 2018 EICMA which is scheduled for next month. And we can expect the bike to arrive on our shores sometime in the first half of next year.
