Ducati is going to launch its entire 2019 Scrambler range in India on 26 April. However, we focus on the Icon which is the highest-seling Scrambler the world over and it gets some noteworthy differences for 2019. So, what can you expect from the 2019 Ducati Scrambler Icon?
Cosmetic updates
The 2019 Ducati Scrambler Icon gets subtle cosmetic updates but hasn't strayed away from the retro-essence of its predecessors. In fact, one might even mistake it for the previous-gen model if viewed from the side. Although from the front, the bright LED DRL sets it apart.
And besides the change in illumination, the 2019 Scrambler Icon gets a redesigned exhaust pipe and canister cover along with machine-finished alloys. The 2019 Scrambler Icon also boasts of a new handlebar switchgear.
Redesigned seat
Another upgrade to the 2019 Scrambler Icon is the new seat which has become flatter than the one on the previous version. Ducati has also worked on the cushion density of the seat, making it firm and more comfortable to the rider. The bike also gets redesigned tank side panels which offers decent thigh support.
Hydraulic clutch assembly
The new Icon come fitted with a hydraulic clutch which results in a lighter clutch-lever pull. This also ensures that the 2019 Scrambler Icon offers smoother gear shifts as compared to its predecessor
Updated electronics
For 2019, one of the major upgrades on the Scrambler Icon is the addition of the cornering ABS which works hand-in-hand with a lean-sensitive IMU. The motorcycle also gets a reconfigured instrument cluster which now displays a fuel-gauge and a gear-position indicator.
Pricing
With the 2019 Ducati Scrambler coming with these upgrades, we can expect the manufacturer to hike prices by around Rs 30,000- Rs 40,000 compared to the previous model which retailed at Rs 7.38 lakhs (ex-showroom).
