Honda has launched higher-spec variant of their litre-class streetfighter, the 2019 CB1000R+ in India. It is priced at Rs 14.46 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) ; a premium of Rs 1.08 lakhs over the previous model.
The most distinctive feature of the CB1000R+ is its styling. The bike sports a minimalistic design language borrowed from the Neo-Sports Café concept showcased in 2017. It gets a round LED-headlamp setup, sculpted fuel tank and a single-sided swingarm that adds to the appeal of the bike. It also gets a full-colour TFT screen that features a unique tachometer and a gear-indicator at its centre. Honda has equipped the bike with a ride by wire system, ABS, traction control and four ride modes.
The CB1000R+, being a top-spec variant also gets heated grips and a two-way quickshifter as standard. Furthermore, it also sports a small fly screen and seat cowl. Powering the bike is a 998cc, inline-four cylinder engine that produces 143bhp and 104Nm of torque. This unit is mated to a six-speed gearbox and final chain drive. It rides on a fully-adjustable inverted front forks and rear monoshock suspension from Showa. Meanwhile the braking setup consists of twin 310mm disc at the front and a 256mm rear disc.
Bookings for the CB1000R+ have commenced at Honda’s Wing World outlets. The bike directly competes against the Kawasaki Z1000 and the BMW S 1000 R in the Indian market.
