- New steel duplex frame.
- Sleeker bodywork with LED lighting and inclusion of ABS.
- Now gets 149cc engine, down from earlier 153cc.
Honda has unveiled the 2019 version of the PCX150 for global markets featuring a host of visual and technological upgrades.
The design of the scooter remains the same as the previous model, although the most noticeable change is the sleek, full-LED headlamp with vertical LED turn signals. Other features include- an LCD instrument cluster, 28-litres of underseat storage and a small storage space in the front apron of the scooter.
Underneath the skin, the PCX150 uses a steel duplex cradle frame in place of the underbone tubular steel frame for improved stability. The five-spoke rims are now replaced with eight-spoke rims shod with larger 100/80 and 120/70 section tyres for the front and rear respectively.
The 2019 PCX150 is powered by a 149cc, liquid-cooled, engine that produces 13.3bhp and 14Nm of torque mated to a CVT gearbox and final belt drive. The engine is smaller than the 153cc engine from the earlier model however; Honda claims that it produces more power and torque thanks to the larger intake and new exhaust. Braking power for the scooter continues to be taken care of by a 220mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum. However, it is now equipped with a single-channel ABS as optional.
The PCX150 is one of Honda’s best-selling premium scooters in global markets. On the other hand it is highly unlikely to arrive in India as the manufacturer would not be able to price the scooter competitively. Currently, the Grazia is the most premium scooter offering from Honda in India.
