Kawasaki launched the 2019 version of its dirt bike, the KLX 140G in India. Bookings for the bike have been opened and it is priced at Rs 4.06 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new version has received updated graphics while remaining the same in terms of engine and cycle parts.
The Kawasaki KLX 140G is suitable for beginners willing to start dirt riding. The motorcycle gets long travel suspension – 190mm on the front and 200mm on the rear monoshock. Based on a semi-double cradle frame, the bike rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels shod with off-road tyres and comes with easy-to-reach handlebar and flat seat. All of which make it suitable for riding around the tricky dirt tracks.
Powering the 2019 Kawasaki KLX 140G is a 144cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC motor that is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The company hasn’t revealed the power figures but it has a strong torque delivery for efficient dirt riding. The dirt bike weighs a minimal 99kg and has a high ground clearance of 315mm.
The Kawasaki KLX 140G is not a street-legal motorcycle and is sold alongside other off-road bikes such as the KLX 110 and KLX 450R. Since there are no similar bikes in India, the KLX 140G has no competition here.
