Kawasaki has launched the 2019 Ninja 1000 in India, priced at Rs 9.9 lakhs (ex-showroom). A locally-assembled motorcycle, the Ninja 1000 is the most affordable litre-class bike you can get your hands on. Here is a photo gallery of the 2019 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 –
The Ninja 1000 is pegged as a relaxed sports touring motorcycle, which can double up as an everyday ride.
The Ninja 1000’s styling draws inspiration from the Ninja ZX-10R superbike. The front s dominated by a sharp twin-headlamp setup and a tall windscreen.
The riding position is not overtly aggressive, with a handlebar is raised and the footpegs slightly rear-set. The seat is spacious and comfortable.
At the heart of the Ninja 1000 is a 1043cc inline four engine delivering 140bhp and 111Nm of torque through a six-speed transmission with a slipper clutch.
The power is kept on leash by a three-level power mode selector and an independent a three-level traction control system.
The Ninja 1000 rides on 17-inch wheels with 41mm inverted front forks and a rear monoshock. Both can adjusted from compression, rebound and preload.
The brake setup consists of dual 300mm petal discs at the front and a single 250mm disc at the rear. ABS is offered as standard.
The 2019 Ninja 1000 is available in two paint schemes – black and a dual tone green/grey. It competes against the Ducati SuperSport and Suzuki GSX-S1000F.
