Kawasaki launched the 2019 Versys 1000 in India with a price tag of Rs 10.69 lakhs (ex-showroom). It is the flagship adventure tourer in the Japanese bikemaker’s line-up and is sold in India as a CKD (completely knocked down) model. It is available in two colour options including pearl stardust white and metallic flat black.
The design of the 2019 Versys 1000 has been revamped to go with the modern Kawasaki styling. Its twin-headlamp setup has been redesigned which now gets LED lamps.
It gets an updated semi-analogue instrument cluster which shows more information while the windscreen is also adjustable.
The Versys 1000 is powered by a 1043cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine that makes 118.27bhp and 102Nm of torque.
It is assisted with rider aids such as electronic cruise control, five-axis bosch IMU, cornering ABS and three-mode traction control.
Braking is handled by 310mm dual semi-floating discs on the front and a 250mm disc at the rear.
The suspension setup has been tweaked for better ride quality. It incorporates 43mm upside-down front forks and a gas-charged rear monoshock, both being adjustable.
The 2019 Kawasaki Versys 1000 locks horns with the Honda Africa Twin, Triumph Tiger 800 XR, Ducati Multistrada 950 and BMW F750GS.
