Kawasaki launched its modern-classic motorcycle, the W800 Street in India recently priced at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). We have highlighted the five features of the W800 Street earlier, so here we bring to you a detailed image gallery of the motorcycle.
The W800 Street draws inspiration for its retro styling from the Kawasaki W1, which was sold in the ‘60s.
Hence, it sports a classic design language with components like the exhaust pipes, headlamp cowl, levers, turn signals, wheels and rear suspension plastered in chrome.
It even gets a ribbed-seat and round mirrors that are both reminiscent of the motorcycles sold in the W1 era.
However, Kawasaki has thrown in a few features for the W800 Street that make up the modern part of its modern-classic tag like a full-LED headlamp, tail lamp and turn signals.
Furthermore, it also gets a twin-pod instrument cluster that features a small LCD-screen that displays information like trip meter, fuel-gauge, odometer and clock. Notably, all of this information is not shown on the screen at all times but only on demand.
Powering the W800 Street is a 773cc, parallel-twin motor that is capable of churning out 47bhp of power and 62.9Nm of torque. It comes mated to a five-speed gearbox and slipper clutch.
Braking on the motorcycle is handled by 320mm disc up front and a 270mm disc at the rear with a dual-channel ABS.
Meanwhile, to keep things as retro as possible, Kawasaki has equipped the W800 Street with telescopic forks complete with fork gaiters up front and a twin shock setup at the rear.
Kawasaki is offering the W800 Street in a single, dual-tone colour option in India as well as in global markets. This paint consists of matte black along with grey.
In terms of pricing, the Kawasaki W800 Street goes up against the Triumph Street Twin and the Ducati Scrambler Icon in the country, Nevertheless, it will also face rivalry from the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 when it comes to features and specs.
