The 2019 KTM 1290 Adventure T has been spotted testing near the Austrian manufacturer’s plant in Europe.
The bike is based on the 1290 Adventure S that is sold in international markets. However, the spy pictures reveal that the Adventure T gets a completely new bodywork. This includes sharper and wider tank extensions, revised fairing and a larger engine sump guard that makes it look like a fully faired motorcycle. The 2019 model is also likely to get redesigned knuckle guards and windscreen.
The test mule also sported a side pannier and luggage rack which KTM is likely to offer as an optional accessory. KTM is also expected to update the bike’s electronic package with a quick shifter and hill hold control. The 2019 1290 Adventure T is likely to borrow the 6.5-inch TFT screen from the Adventure S model. The Adventure T is also expected to use the full-LED headlamp from the latter.
The 1290 Adventure T will use a 1301cc, V-Twin engine that puts out 160bhp and 140Nm of torque. This unit is mated to a six-speed gearbox and final chain drive. We can expect the bike to be unveiled at the 2018 EICMA in Italy. However, it is highly unlikely to be introduced in India anytime soon.
