- It was heavily camouflaged like the previous time
- Missed out on saddle bags and top box this time
- Expected to be launched in India by the end of this year
The 2019 KTM 390 Adventure is one of the highly anticipated motorcycles in India right now. The company has been testing the bike in India extensively which is signified by the consistently emerging spy shots. The motorcycle was previously spotted in January when it was loaded with saddle bags and top box. Now, the KTM 390 Adventure has been spied testing once again.
The test mule was covered in camouflage for most of its body panels, similar to the bike spotted earlier. However, unlike before, it was deprived of the saddle bags and top box. The motorcycle shares a majority of its design with its naked sibling, the KTM 390 Duke. However, there are several elements which depict that it is a touring motorcycle. It features a tall windscreen, easy-to-reach handlebar, radiator guard, saddle stays and luggage carrier. Moreover, it also boasts of comfortable ergonomics which will make it suitable for long distance riding.
The KTM 390 Adventure will share its engine with the 390 Duke which is a 373.3cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that makes 43bhp and 37Nm. However, this motor will be tuned differently for the Adventure iteration to suit its purpose. The spotted mule incorporated alloy wheels while KTM is also expected to bring a more off-road-focussed variant which will get spoke wheels. Additionally, unlike the 390 Duke’s 13.5 litre fuel tank, the 390 Adventure will get a larger tank which will give it a longer range.
The KTM 390 Adventure is expected to debut in India by the end of this year. It will go up against other entry-level ADVs including the Kawasaki Versys X-300 and the BMW G310GS. The motorcycle will be made in India for the local as well as international markets.
