The 2019 Ducati Panigale V4 R has been caught testing around the Jerez circuit in Spain with the manufacturer’s WSBK factory team.
While the bike does not sport any major difference compared to its road-going siblings, the Panigale V4 R is narrower for maximum results at the track. The standard Panigale V4 and Panigale V4 S are powered by a 1,103cc V4 engine. However, the Panigale V4 R is specifically designed for racing and is powered by a 1000cc V4 engine to comply with WSBK norms.
Although the bike has a smaller capacity engine, the manufacturer says that the Panigale V4 R produces the same power and torque. Since the bike is used solely for racing, the engine is likely to be fine-tuned with the mapping set for a higher RPM range.
Ducati will launch the 2019 Panigale V4 R at the 2018 World Ducati Week at Misano this July.
