-2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155 to be launched in India soon
-Gets a muscular streetfighter styling
-Expected to cost around Rs 95,000
Suzuki is likely to launch the 2019 Gixxer 155 in India in the coming few months. While the bike was expected to get a cosmetic makeover just like its fully-faired sibling, the Gixxer SF, leaked images confirm what the Gixxer 155 will look like.
The 2019 Gixxer 155 gets a muscular design language similar to the previous model although with a few revisions for a fresher appeal. While the tank still has broad shoulder lines, the tank shrouds are now beefier and sharper. The full-LED headlamp on the 2019 version is sleeker as compared to the bulbous unit on its predecessor. The bike will also feature a redesigned, white-backlit digital instrument cluster in place of the previous orange backlit unit.
The most noticeable change is to the rear section of the motorcycle which now has a sharp design along with a split-seat setup similar to the 2019 Gixxer SF. And the exhaust design, although hidden in the leaked images, will be the same as the latter. In terms of engine and cycle parts, the Gixxer 155 will not stray away from its faired counterpart. It will be powered by a 155cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected motor which produces 13.9bhp of power and 14Nm of torque. The bike rides on telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking will be handled by disc brakes at both ends with a single-channel ABS.
We expect Suzuki to price the 2019 Gixxer 155 around Rs 95,000. In terms of competition, it will go head-on against the Yamaha FZ-S, Honda CB Hornet 160R and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V in the country.
