Suzuki has launched the highly-awaited Gixxer SF 250 in India at Rs 1.70 lakhs (ex-showroom). Along with that, the manufacturer has also confirmed that the Gixxer 250 street fighter is in the works and is expected to arrive in India soon, most probably in the next few months.
The Gixxer 250 is likely to cost Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 lesser than its full-faired sibling. Besides the fairing, the underpinnings of the Gixxer 250 will remain the same as the Gixxer SF 250. It will be powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that produces 26.1bhp at 9000 rpm and a peak torque of 22.6Nm at 7500pm. The motor comes mated to a six-speed transmission.
In terms of features, the street fighter Gixxer 250 will sport a full-LED headlamp, a fully-digital instrument cluster. Suspension duties will be handled by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock for the rear. On the other hand, the Gixxer 250 will use a disc brake setup at both ends further assisted by a dual-channel ABS.
Once launched, the Gixxer 250 will go head on against the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 which is priced at Rs 1.74 lakhs. Along with the Dominar it will also face competition from the Yamaha FZ25 and Mahinda Mojo XT300.
