Suzuki has launched the 2019 model of its entry-level fully-faired motorcycle, the Gixxer SF 155. The motorcycle has received a major cosmetic update along with slight revisions to its engine. Priced at Rs 1.09 lakhs, the Gixxer SF has become dearer by Rs 8000 over the previous model. That being said, let’s take a closer look at the changes the bike has received, in this launch image gallery.
The design of the 2019 Gixxer SF 155 is similar to its elder sibling, the new Gixxer SF 250. The bike looks sportier now owing to an edgier fairing along with a restyled headlamp and tail lamp.
The front fascia of the motorcycle draws inspiration from Suzuki’s high-end sportsbikes such as the previous-gen GSX-R1000. The headlamp now houses an all-LED setup as opposed to a conventional halogen bulb on the predecessor.
Following the new design language, the bike receives a new tail lamp unit which continues to feature LED lamps.
The instrument cluster on the new Gixxer SF 155 continues to be a fully-digital unit but has now been updated with a new layout which receives a white backlight instead of orange on the outgoing model.
The one-piece seat has been replaced by a split-seat setup for the new Gixxer SF 155. While this gives the motorcycle a sportier look, it should also help in providing lower back support to the rider.
Moreover, the one-piece handlebar has been replaced by clip-ons which will offer a slightly sporty yet comfortable riding stance.
The new Gixxer is powered by the same 155cc, fuel-injected motor but now receives a minor drop in power which is down from 14.6bhp to 13.9bhp. The peak torque output remains the same at 14Nm.
The braking setup has also been retained with disc brakes at both the ends which continues to feature single-channel ABS as standard.
For soaking bumps, the motorcycle comes equipped with 41mm telescopic forks at the front, which gets a stiffer setting now, while the swingarm-mounted rear monoshock remains the same.
Suzuki offers the new-generation Gixxer SF 155 in two new colour shades including a single-tone Glass Sparkle Black and a dual-tone Metallic Sonic Silver/Glass Sparkle Black.
