The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 was launched in India recently sporting a couple of changes that differentiate it from the previous model. Here are five points telling you what’s new about the motorcycle.
New design
The biggest change to the Gixxer SF 155 comes in the form of its new styling which it derives from the Gixxer SF 250 that was launched alongside it.
The Gixxer SF gets sharp lines and creases all around its bodywork, unlike the previous model which sported a smooth styling. Furthermore, it also gets clip-on handlebars, redesigned rider and pillion seats, a new exhaust canister and a svelte tail section to complete its new look.
Updated feature list
Suzuki has caught up with the modern world and is now offering the Gixxer SF 155 with a full-LED headlamp and LED tail lamp. While the turn signals still get conventional bulbs, it only a small price to pay. Moreover, the instrument cluster has also been updated. The display now has a white backlit and also features a fresh layout.
Retuned engine
Suzuki has retuned the Gixxer’s 155cc, fuel-injected, oil-cooled engine which now produces 13.9bhp; a slight drop from the previous bike’s 14.6bhp power output. However, the torque figures remain at 14Nm. The 2019 Gixxer SF has a kerb weight of 146kg. Now, that is 6kg heavier than the outgoing model.
Colour options
The Suzuki Gixxer SF is offered in two colour options; a full black paint job and a dual-tone scheme which consists of silver and black. There is no additional cost for the dual-tone colour.
Price
The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF retails at Rs 1.09 lakhs (ex-showroom). This pricing is a premium of Rs 8,000 over the earlier version. In terms of competition, the Gixxer SF competes against the Hero Xtreme 200S and Yamaha YZF-R15 V3 in the country.
