The Triumph Speed Twin was recently unveiled to the global market and is India-bound sometime early next year. Here are the photos of the British modern-classic for you to feast your eyes on.
The motorcycle looks to its smaller sibling, the Street Twin for design inspiration.
It gets a circular full-LED headlamp that is held on by aluminium brackets and LED turn indicators on both sides.
Triumph has equipped the Speed Twin with a twin-pod instrument cluster that also incorporates small digital displays on both units.
The Speed Twin’s electronic package consists of ABS, a switchable traction control system and three ride modes- Road, Rain and Sport.
The bike rides on 17-inch wheels on both ends shod with Pirelli Rosso Corsa 3 tyres.
It is suspended on 41mm, non-adjustable cartridge forks and a pre-load adjustable twin shock setup at the rear.
Braking is handled by Brembo 305mm front discs and a single 220mm rear disc sourced from Nissin.
The tank is capable of holding 14.5-litres of fuel and uses a retro-looking Monza-style filler cap.
The Speed Twin offers a comfortable yet slightly aggressive riding stance thanks to the rear set foot pegs and upright handlebar.
It is powered by a 1200cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 96bhp and 112Nm of torque.
While this engine is similar to the one on the Thruxton R, it gets a revised clutch and magnesium cam cover that makes it 2.5kg lighter.
We can expect Triumph to price the bike around Rs 10.5-11.5 lakhs. It will compete against the Ducati Scrambler 1100 and Kawasaki Z900 RS.
