The 2019 Triumph Street Scrambler is scheduled to arrive in our country in two days. So before it reaches Indian shores, we tell you what to expect from the 2019 Street Scrambler.
Minor cosmetic tweaks
The Street Scrambler gets slight changes to its styling for 2019. These subtle changes include new graphics, redesigned side panels and seat, brushed aluminium headlamp brackets and a revised instrument cluster. It continues to exude the mild off-road motorcycle appeal thanks to its spoke wheels, engine guard, dual-purpose rubber and high-set twin exhaust pipes.
Retuned engine
The 2019 Street Scrambler is powered by a 900cc, parallel-twin engine similar to the outgoing model. However, this unit has been reworked to produce 10bhp more taking the power figures to 64bhp. The torque figures stand at 80Nm.
Updated electronics
The outgoing Street Scrambler offered an ABS unit and traction control as standard. In addition to those electronic aids, the 2019 version also gets a ride-by-wire system, and three ride modes; Road, Rain and Off-Road.
Upgraded suspension and braking hardware
The Street Scrambler now gets better brakes and suspension, although only at the front. There is a four-pot Brembo caliper that holds on to a 310mm disc and upgraded 41mm cartridge-type forks with 120mm of travel that takes care of damping. At the rear, the bike continues with a 255mm disc with a two-pot Nissin caliper and twin shocks with pre-load adjustment.
Pricing
Owing to these upgrades and changes, the 2019 Street Scrambler is highly likely to be priced at a premium of Rs 20,000-Rs 30,000 over the current bike that retails at Rs 8.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
